Nowy Sacz

The Association of Friends of the Nowy Sącz hospice started in 2000, running a home care hospice and a pain treatment clinic. There are many kind people involved - doctors, nurses and non-medical volunteers bringing selfless help to patients and their families.

From the beginning the goal of the association was to set up a residential hospice in Nowy Sącz, as this town of over 80,000 inhabitants did not have such a facility. After many years of efforts, fundraising events and collections, the hospice accepted its first patients in 2012. It currently cares for 21 people.

To date, the Alina Foundation and Cycle Poland have donated:

• in 2012, a laryngoscope, three trolleys and stands for hospital drips;
• in 2015, a bed and a mattress;
• in 2016, two oxygen concentrators and 10 anti-bedsore mattresses.
