OlsztynThe Olsztyn hospice provides home-based care, including medical and nursing care, psychological and spiritual support, and support for families. The team works with children who live up to 120 km from Olsztyn and adults up to 30 km away.
In 2017 the Alina Foundation visited the hospice as part of our Cycle Poland bike ride, and donated six new portable pulse-concentrators with specialist sensors for babies. These are indispensable for the youngest patients at a very tough time for families – having professional equipment like this available in a child’s home provides comfort and peace of mind. The Olsztyn Home Care Hospice sincerely thanks the participants of the eighth Cycle Poland for Polish hospices organised by the Alina Foundation for donating medical equipment, namely pulse-oxygen meters, to support the youngest patients of the hospice. We are grateful and happy that there are among us people with open hearts, for whom the fate of another is not irrelevant. Our wish for you is that you find many more ways of doing good in the service of another, remembering the beautiful words of Herman Gmeiner: "Everything that is great in our world happens because someone does more than they have to". -Sister Luisa, Director of the Caritas Home Care Hospice in Olsztyn and Father Paweł Zięba, Director of Caritas in the Warmińskie Archdiocese Read more on the webpage of the hospice. |
