CYCLE POLAND 2015: 13 - 21 June
1144km and a world record to support people with terminal illnesses and their families
Our sixth annual ride crossed the whole country, starting in Gdańsk on the north coast, taking in rural villages and towns in eastern Poland, and finishing in historic Kraków. We visited 6 hospices, which received vital medical equipment: beds, mattresses, medicines and more.
Our honorary patrons were Maja Włoszczowska, world MTB champion, and Olympian track cyclist Damian Zieliński. Along the way one of our riders, Prasan Modasia, broke the world record for the longest distance cycled on a Santander city bike! The ride raised an incredible £25,000 so a further 25 hospices will receive new equipment in the coming months. Congratulations to all our cyclists for their amazing achievement, and huge thanks to everyone who supported us - we couldn't have done it without you. It is still not too late to help us support the work of Polish hospices by making a donation below. We pay all the Foundation's costs including the costs of the ride, so donations go directly to supporting patients and their families. If you would be interested in taking part in the fantastic adventure that will be Cycle Poland 2016 please email us. We will let you know the details as soon as possible. |
