CYCLE POLAND 2016: 25 June - 3 July
18 cyclists rode 960 km and climbed 11,766 m to raise £15,000 for Polish hospices
Our seventh annual ride started in Wroclaw, the 2016 European Capital of Culture, and headed south through the beautiful mountains and rural villages of Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, before finishing in historic Kraków.
Along the way we visited 9 hospices and delivered vital medical equipment: beds, mattresses, medicines and more. The ride raised an incredible £15,000 so a further 6 hospices received new equipment after the ride finished. Our honorary patrons were Maja Włoszczowska, silver medallist at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, and Olympian track cyclist Damian Zieliński. Congratulations to all our cyclists for their amazing achievement, and huge thanks to everyone who supported us - we couldn't have done it without you. To learn more about the impact of the ride itself, take a look at our new infographic. It is still not too late to help us support the work of Polish hospices by making a donation below. We pay all the Foundation's costs including the costs of the ride, so donations go directly to supporting patients and their families. If you would be interested in taking part in the fantastic adventure that will be Cycle Poland 2017 please email us. We will let you know the details as soon as possible. |
